What you need

Equipment

Small saucepan, Toaster, Small bowl, Fork or potato masher, Measuring spoons, Fine grater, Knife and cutting board

Make it your own

A few simple steps.

  1. Bring 250 mL water to a boil in a small saucepan. Add the frozen peas and simmer until tender, about 3–4 minutes, or use the package cooking directions. Drain well.

  2. Toast the sourdough until crisp at the edges. Meanwhile, lightly crush the warm peas in a bowl with a fork, leaving some whole; stir in the olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest and salt.

  3. Spread the peas over the toast. Scatter the sunflower seeds over the top and serve promptly.

A few useful details

Good to know.

Allergens & ingredients

Contains wheat if the sourdough is wheat-based. Check bread and seed package labels and cross-contact statements.

Make & store

Best assembled just before eating so the toast stays crisp. Cooked peas can be covered and refrigerated at 4°C or below for up to 1 day; discard food left out for more than 2 hours, or 1 hour above 32°C.
